    It's Silverlight time...

    Hi,
i've just put on line my first try with Silverlight, basically it's the porting of my first XNA game Puzzle Diamonds, it includes some nice features like a scene manager with sprite handling and a really basic particle system... so give it a try HERE

In order to works Puzzle Diamods need the Silverlight plugin 1.1 alpha installed, you can download and install this from the official Silverlight site

I'll release the source code as soon as i start the new project on codeplex ;-)

enjoy and let me know any issue about it

    Home sweet home...

    hello,
just back from vacations (sigh!) quick update on picture section with some pics from my greek summer :)

i'm engaged with WPF hehehehe since it remind me the old "retained mode" of the first version of DirectX :) taking inspiration from WPF i've made some big modification on SkyBurner engine, the major stuff is the complete XML control over the 3D Objects creation by the engine, the first test bench of this stuff is a Space Invaders remake now running as a level of the game :) a pic of this could be found in the Sky Burner pictures section and at the bottom of this blog entry.

Stay tuned for the codeplex release ;-)

    that's all

    Sky Burner Summer Release

    hi,
just finish to drop on codeplex the summer release of  Sky Burner XNA. New contents are inside this release, the major is the new particle system manager and the initial version of a new level sets on an asteroid (check the pic on photos) :)
I've added also the ability to run dynamically a piece of code on level startup this is usefull for me to test new gfxs, the first try of this is the volumetric clouds rendering (you can see a screenshot on photos) that of course need more work to be complete :D

now i'm ready for vacation ;-)

    Sky Burner Update on CodePlex

    Hi,
i've just upload a new version of SkyBurner on CodePlex, i've just put the source code only, since i've a strange problems in uploading the binary files, every time i try to upload the binary zip file of the game i got a strange error with some sort of GUID that decribe it, i've contacted the CodePlex support staff and they told me that it's a problem that sometimes happens... for me always happens :)

Well the new SkyBurner release has the support for the Hiscore table saved as XML files, it's quite generic and could be reused for other projects ;-)

The next big thing todo is the revision of the particle system/emitters since as they are actually doesn't look so good, the first step (included in this rel) is the support for the point sprite for the particles, but it's not enought since i've to modify the working logic of the whole stuff.

    enjoy,
    ricky

    Sky Burner work in progress...

    hello,
the work on Sky Burner proceed :) during the week-end i've just rewrote the terrain rendering, i've added now the possibility to user plain vanilla heightmaps or assign to each terrain patch a specific model, the nice thing is that in order to do this it's necessary modifying only an XML configuration file.

/me happy of new terrain system :D

i'm plannig to improve the water rendering shader in order to make the water more realistic, as soon i've something good to show i'll release a public demos :)

ATTN: if there someone out there that would donate me some space ships 3D models, it will be greatly apreciated ;-)
